A partire dal 12 aprile inizierà il rilascio di Facebook Home, il nuovo launcher per cellulari Android che promette di “introdurre una nuova esperienza integrata ed accessibile a tutti”. Praticamente il launcher andrà a sostituire con proprie versioni personalizzate il lock screen, l’app drawer e l’home screen, rivoluzionandone completamente l’interfaccia, installerà inoltre una nuova applicazione per la gestione della messaggistica intregrata Facebook / SMS che nell’uso pratico andrà a sostituire quella standard di Android in quanto tutti i collegamenti presenti nelle schermate punteranno alla nuova applicazione. Sicuramente un launcher interessante, almeno per chi usa assiduamente Facebook, grazie alla fortissima integrazione con i servizi del social network (penso ad esempio al news feed mostrato nel lock screen o la messaggistica unificata) ma che al momento ha ancora tanti dubbi da chiarire prima di poter esprimere un vero giudizio, come il reale funzionamento delle notifiche (saranno le stesse del classico Android?) o come ci si troverà senza widget, visto che non sono supportati nell’home screen…
Non è prevista la distribuzione del launcher mediante Play Store ma sarà la stessa applicazione Facebook che, gradualmente a partire dal 12 aprile ed in base al modello del proprio terminale, avviserà della disponibilità e ne permetterà l’installazione. Per chi proprio non può aspettare MoDaCo ha già reso disponibile per il download una versione leaked per sviluppatori.
